Large Impeller Cores - Realised in 36 Hours for a Production Foundry Client

Large, complex cores such a this demonstrate the full capability of 3D Printing with sand.  This impressive  impeller core  measures 730mm  (diameter) x 350mm and 2 were realised in a little over 36 hours, from a standard CAD .STL model.  

The size means there's a small overhead in retrieving them from the job box. before they care cleaned by hand to ensure a premium surface ready  for mould assembly and casting.

Printed, Then Cast

From Drawing to Delivery, in 10 days

A motorsport client sent us a complex CAD model of this Bell Housing for a Le Mans car. First we  created the mould pattern - a CAD model that is the 'negative'  of the final part - then we produce that mould in printed silicon sand.

 

.

A complex shape such as this prints in about 48hrs, and takes a further 48 hours to clean & prep before it's ready for our foundry.

Planning a Job Box

Preparing a Job Box for our S15 Machine : The job box measures 1550 x 750 x750. The parts are materialized in the job box in 0.28mm layers of binder and sand. Each job box is planned to use space in the box efficiently using software to manage the orientation and location of parts and avoid collisions.
